UCSD Marketing Council
Mission
Statement
Initiate and implement a collaborative marketing plan that communicates
UCSD's excellence, supports its goals, and facilitates access to the
university by all audiences.
The UCSD Marketing Council
brings together professionals from throughout the University to collaborate
and develop comprehensive marketing strategies which communicate and
promote UCSD's mission of excellence in the areas of research, teaching,
public service, and patient care to the university community and the
community at large. The Council works to improve awareness, perception,
and accessibility to the university and its services and programs.
UCSD Marketing Council projects
include the development of a new UCSD logo, participation in the redesign
of the Virtual Visit to UCSD, marketing the university's resources to
the business community, development of campus graphic identity guidelines
for print and web, revival of UCSD Open House, celebration of UCSD's
40th anniversary, and the negotiation of shared, reduced-rate advertising
contracts. Representatives from the council also work with campus committees
to improve parking and signage on campus for the benefit of students,
faculty, staff, and visitors.
