Modified Guidelines

Modified, interim website guidelines for UCSD Libraries’ branch websites


These guidelines are only temporary until the UCSD Libraries do a major redesign and new guidelines and apply only to branch library sites. Units and webmaster wishing to temporarily change their website should be aware that their site will need to be converted to the new guidelines when they are in place. Websites need not be changed. These guidelines are only for those units which feel a need to update their sites. The main UCSD Libraries website, Sage pages and services pages shall remain unchanged.

	The website shall keep a banner with the current four buttons at the top for Sage, Melvyl, Roger and Home. From the homepage, the library site shall link to the UCSD libraries as it currently does.
	The website shall use a sans-serif font and be consistent with font use throughout the site.The website shall continue to use the standard information, feedback link and logo in the footers.
	The website need not restrict itself to the six hundred pixel wide, left justification layout, two-column layout.
	The website shall keep a white background
	The website shall not display blinking or Flash animation on the main page or be used to drive major parts of the website.

Units wishing to redesign their website according to these modified guidelines should submit their proposed redesign to LWC (through committee chair Laura Galván-Estrada or the Groupwise mailing list Libraries Website Committee) for review prior to implementation.
