What is a Traveling Culture Kit?
A:
Traveling Culture Kits are designed to integrate multicultural
education into the classroom. Teachers will have easy access
to all materials needed for a unit and students will have
hands on activities. These kits will include:
Books and Literature
Teacher Resource Materials
Lesson Plans
Musical Instruments
Artifacts
Films
Posters/Maps
Compact Discs
Q:How
do I borrow one?
A:
Traveling Culture Kits are not ready yet, however we are
looking for teachers to help create curriculum units for
the first kit: Ancient Civilizations of Latin America -
the Aztecs, the Mayas, and the Incas. Once the curriculum
units are developed, the kits will be available for check
out.
Q:
How much does it cost?
A:
Traveling Cultures Kits will be free of charge to all teachers
based on a first come first served basis. Return shipping
charges may apply.
Q:What
themes are available?
A: We have
one theme in development entitled Ancient Civilizations
of Latin America: the Aztecs, the Mayas, and the Incas.
We are currently conducting a survey to determine what other
themes teachers would like to see.
