Announcements:

• The Single/Separate journal proposal report that CAMSIG/SCPAC was asked to consider was sent to HOTS. The recommendation in the report was that we not change policies at this time.
  
• Becky announced that Ryan had found (and printed) the Millennium Create Lists Manual. This 130 page manual was created by the Library System of Lancaster County and should be very helpful for staff who are not confident in their ability to use Create Lists.  

Discussion:

1. Converting PIDs to BibPurls for CalDocs and open access journals.

There is a push to move away from PIDs to other kinds of link resolvers, especially those for which we are not responsible for the maintenance. When cataloging Caldocs, assign URLs in this order:

1. OCLC Digital Archive Link (or ARK as appropriate)
2. BibPurl
3. PID

We will be executing a clean up project to replace all PIDs with either BibPurls or Digital Archive Links for Caldocs whenever possible (e.g., we may not be able to enhance some mono records and therefore, we would continue to use PIDs if there was no Digital Archive Link), and replace all PIDs with BibPURLs for open access ejournals. If the URL change involves a SCP record, it will not be redistributed unless there are other changes to the record. Renee will write up a summary for the SCPAC on the question of future redistribution for SCP records with these URL changes (BibPurls/DALs for CalDocs and PIDs/BibPURLs for open access journals).

2. Mat type "i" follow up.

There was discussion about introducing a new mat type "i" for integrating resources. It was felt that this would not be looked upon with favor by RISC, so we will continue with using "s" or, on older materials, changing the mat type from "m" to "s" (policy since November, 2006).
