Discussion:
1. Change from CD-ROM to DVD-ROM serial: When changing format from CD-ROM to DVD-ROM, create a separate record for the DVD-ROM serial, per LCRI 21.3B. CCM does not address the issue.
2. Document revision review: Ejournal serial supplements (see 12/07/06 email from Adolfo): Renee found out that the example listed in 530 in the serial composite record guidelines indicating"some issues, including supplements, also issued online" or "some issues, including those of the parent journal, also issued online" didn't make sense when a supplement or parent journal is on a separate web site.
The group agreed that this note could potentially confuse patrons for these supplements/parent journals on separate web sites, and patrons may not read this note. So we should keep it simple. Renee will update the guidelines to replace these examples with "Also issued online."
3. Converting PIDs to BibPURLs for caldocs and open access ejournals (see 12/12/06 email from Adolfo): Deferred to next meeting.
4. CONSER access level record will be implemented Feb. 1, 2007. How will this affect UCSD serials catalogers? (see 12/12/06 email from Adolfo): We will wait to see the results of ALA discussions, also hope to have a discussion on the UC Funnel listserv.
5. Mat type "i" for integrating resources: Stacy is absent, so Holly addressed Stacy's concern regarding using mat type "i" in INNOPAC record, how that would affect statistics data gathering and Melvyl loading. Ryan will informally check with Susan Jurist.
Continue to code Pac mat type as "s" for integrating resources pending further discussions. Also add checkin records for integrating resources.
