III. DISCUSSION
- Patron Notifies Procedure- S. Higgins
Because of problems stemming from request streamers used with processing monographs, it was determined that an automated procedure is needed. Patrons will use Roger Request to place a hold on materials, the Request unit creates a list daily. Requests for uncataloged materials will go to either Metadata Services or Acquisitions as appropriate. As of October 1, all materials will have an item record created the moment an order is placed. If, on the very rare chance, a patron would like to request an item that does not have an item record, a circulation supervisor will place a bibliographic record hold. Other than for this exception, library staff are instructed not to use bib record holds.
Circulation staff will notify patrons as to the outcome of their in process item(s) request.
- Review of Library Cards and Borrowing Policies websites
Discussion postponed until later Circulation Committee meetings.
- Review of Summary of Loan Privileges and Eligibility for Borrowers .
